September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Clearwater is supporting Cancer Research UK this year with ongoing fundraising by our fabulous team across the country. We’re doing this to help all survivors of cancer, and to hopefully protect children from suffering from the disease in our future. Cancer Research UK aims to do this by doubling the ‘amount of money they spend on researching cures and kinder treatments for children with cancer over the next 5-10 years’.
Some facts about Childhood cancer
Cancer is the biggest killer disease of young people
More children are surviving cancer than ever before – in the 1960s only 1 in 4 children survived, but today 3 in 4 children are now cured of their cancer
Cancer Research understands that the distressing long-term side-effects that children suffer from after their treatment, such as infertility and disability, have a devastating effect on their lives and their families. That’s why they are investing in ground-breaking research to bring gentler, more effective treatments to children with cancer.
