St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Save Approx. £420,000 per annum with Clearwater
St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of 1.3 million across southwest London and is one of the largest Trusts in the UK.
Incoming Water bills equate to a significant cost of running major hospitals. Historically St George's Hospital had access to an excellent source of water from a borehole sited deep under the hospital.
The control equipment in place was deemed dated by their latest borehole risk assessment leading to reliance on mains supply; resulting in water bills in excess of £35,000 per month.
Clearwater designed, installed and commissioned a new bespoke chemical treatment plant, control system and temperature controlled plant room.
Clearwater provided full, future proof system integration, remote access, data logging and alarm systems to provide total confidence in potable water disinfection.
The result was a saving of approximately £420,000 per annum for the hospital. A quote from the local Senior Environmental Services Officer stated:
"I’m satisfied that sufficient controls and procedures are in place for the trust to go back on to the borehole without compromising the health of the hospital populations. Clearwater have demonstrated to me that they will go above and beyond what is normally expected."
